He Is With You

Pin It My friend Michael played this song for us at Sunday school last Sunday. What a fabulous reminder that no matter what life situation we may be facing, He is with us!

This is "He Is With You" by Mandisa. I came home and bought the CD.

LOVE THIS!
Dan and I just had a conversation about that we're realizing that so much of what we were taught about what it means to have Him "see you through the storm" isn't necessarily Biblical. We tend to hear the church trade platitudes about the joy that comes in the morning, the redemption of Joseph, and the restoration tenfold of Job, planting the expectation that somehow if we lose something or endure pain, we will live to have it repaid to us. It'll get better someday. But God doesn't always show us that restoration and fulfillment; many times (as this video portrays) the loss is just that - a loss. Something that will never be regained in this life. For many of the apostles and OT faithful, it *didn't* get "better"; it just kept getting harder until they finally died.

But the joy that comes in the morning, and the Biblical promise to us as believers, is NOT that we'll get it all back, but that HE will be with us through it all. He understands; He walks alongside of us - even carries us when need be; He cries and rejoices with us; and it all *is* restored to us, just not necessarily in the way we'd expect to see restoration. It's restored to us IN HIM. In Him we live and move and have our being. In Him is the joy in the morning. Not in some pie-in-the-sky dream of someday getting back whatever it is we think we've lost, but in finding that we're able to endure, even to live abundantly, without it IN HIM. That HE will be worth the cost. Thanks for sharing this. It's beautiful.
